The lifespan of the tortoise is generally 50-100 years. To make the tortoise live longer, it is necessary to ensure that the temperature of the tortoise is suitable, the nutrition is balanced, and the proper light is provided.

When feeding the tortoise, the temperature should be controlled at 26~28 °C, which is the most suitable temperature for their growth. In addition, it should be noted that the temperature should not be lower than 18 ℃, otherwise the tortoise may catch a cold or die. The temperature difference throughout the day should not be too large, and it should be within 4°C. The temperature can be controlled with UVA lamps, ceramic heating lamps, etc.
The boot-footed tortoise likes a humid environment, so the humidity in the air needs to be kept above 60%. When conditions permit, the moderation can be controlled between 75% and 85%. If the humidity is not enough, a humidifier can be used to increase the humidity.
Boot-footed tortoises prefer to eat plant-based foods, such as bananas, pumpkins, carrots, papaya, and dandelion leaves. Of course, feeding some more nutritious turtle food is also very good.
