Pan's box turtle is best moved indoors during hibernation so that it can survive the winter safely. Under the natural climatic conditions in East China, feeding is very simple and does not require heating equipment. When the temperature is 20 ℃, Pan's box turtle can eat normally, the most suitable 22-30 ℃, stop eating or eat less at about 15 ℃, and enter the hibernation state below 10 ℃. The hibernation period is from November to early April of the following year. The hibernation period in southern China is shorter, usually from December to February of the following year.

Pan's box turtle is an aquatic turtle, living in the hills Mountain streams, rock crevices, and rivers with gentle flow and clear water in the area. For carnivorous turtles, under artificial feeding conditions, feed on insects, small fish, small shrimp, earthworms, livestock and poultry viscera, etc.
