Burmese black mountain turtles are raised in deep or shallow water

2022-04-05 / 868 Read

The Burmese black mountain turtle belongs to a class of semi-aquatic turtles, so it is necessary to pay a little attention to the water level when breeding. The water level should not be too high, just cover part of their back shell. Burmese black mountain turtles are generally water-based, and the substrate can be mixed with sand to maintain humidity. The water area can take up 1/3 of the rearing environment, or it can be replaced by a water tray, plus sinking wood or plants to complete the basic environment settings.

The most suitable water temperature range for the growth of Burmese black mountain turtles is 22 -28 degrees. While they are growing, it is best to stay within this range and try not to dip below 20 degrees. In winter, they can be left unheated and let them go into hibernation naturally.
