The masked map turtle hibernates.
The masked map turtles went into hibernation after the frost in October. In November, when the water temperature is 13 ℃, the turtle enters hibernation and is slow to respond to touch, vibration and stimulation. In January of the following year, when the water temperature is below 10°C, the masked map turtle enters deep hibernation without excretion.

During hibernation, the glans retracts into the shell, while the limbs and tail are not retracted into the shell Inside, lie down in the deep water of the pool or under the crevices and haystacks on the shore. By mid-April of the following year, when the temperature rose to 18°C, it began to wake up gradually, often opening its eyes and crawling slightly.
