The larvae can be fed insects, bloodworms, small shrimp, turtle food, and fish and shrimp meat. Adults tend to be more herbivorous and can be fed lettuce, water lettuce, duckweed, and other aquatic plants, as well as a variety of leafy greens like dandelions and kale.
