Shell rot is a common disease of Zhou's box turtle. Appears as white spots on the carapace. When squeezed, blood will come out and it will smell bad. Serious carapace will rot into a hole. This is due to the severe wear and tear of the carapace of the Zhou's box turtle, and bacteria enter the infection and cause the carapace to rot.

This disease is mainly based on prevention, keep the water clean, and disinfect the turtle pond regularly . To disinfect the surface of the Zhou's box turtle, you can soak the Zhou's box turtle with salt water for about 15 minutes, and then put it back into the turtle pond after the water on the turtle body is dry. If you suffer from it, you should clean and disinfect the affected area with purple syrup, and apply erythromycin eye ointment for dry maintenance.
