Alamo mud turtles will naturally enter hibernation, and the period is about four to five months, but the hibernation period should not exceed 20 weeks. Sometimes due to weather changes, the hibernation period will be shortened to about 4 to 6 weeks.

And the Alamo mud turtle is generally active at a temperature of 23-29 degrees Celsius, When the temperature is above 31 degrees, it will enter the absomnia state, and below 18 degrees, it will enter the hibernation state. When the temperature is about 20 degrees, it will stop eating, or only attack the live mouth (crickets, red wheat worms) without swallowing.
