How to deal with the desert gopher tortoise's illness:

1. Rotten skin: The affected part of the desert gopher tortoise is ulcerated and the skin turns white.

Treatment method: dry the desert gopher tortoise, apply chlortetracycline ointment after disinfecting the affected area with iodophor. Soak in water for half an hour every day to feed and bask in the sun.

2. Saprolegnia: manifested as desert gopher tortoise body surface Partially whitish, with white cotton-wool mycelium growing on the body, loss of appetite, weight loss and weakness. In severe cases, the neck and limbs are covered with water mold, and some wounds of the lesions are congested and festered, and finally collapsed and died.

Treatment method: Disinfect the breeding pool, wipe the affected area with povidone-iodine, and then dry it.
