There is no specific standard for how deep the water should be to raise the Texas map turtle. Ten centimeters, twenty centimeters, and thirty centimeters are all acceptable. However, when raising Texas map turtles in deep water, be sure to add sunken wood, floating islands or land in the water, so that Texas map turtles have a place to rest and bask. If it is a turtle seedling of the Texas map, it is best to raise it in shallow water first, and then gradually deepen the water level after it grows up, adding about five centimeters per week.
