Mou's terrapin is raised in shallow water and generally lives on the bottom of swampy, clear and ooze streams. It is an omnivorous turtle, but it tends to be carnivorous. It mainly uses fish, shrimp, shellfish, insects, snails, earthworms, etc. as its daily food, and occasionally ingests aquatic plants or berries.

When the temperature is lower than 15℃, Mou's water turtle will be raised in deep water or in shallow water. Turtles burrow into the soil to hibernate. In summer, if the temperature exceeds 30 ℃, it will also enter the state of aestivation.
