The Tibetan Bamboo Leaf Green Snake is about 600mm in length and is a venomous snake with tube teeth. It is green throughout, with no red and white longitudinal stripes on its sides, irregular rust-red patches on its back, pale green ventral surface, and pure green tail tip.

The Tibetan Bamboo Leaf Green Snake has a large head and a triangular shape, which is clearly distinguished from its neck. The head and back are all small scales, and there is a small scale between the left and right nasal scales. There are buccal fossa, and the first upper lip scale is completely separated from the nasal scale. There are 21 rows of dorsal scales in the middle, and 15 to 17 rows of weak ridges in the center; 155 to 161 of ventral scales; complete anal scales; 44 pairs of inferior caudal scales.
