The males and females of the saber-backed musk turtles are well distinguished. The V-shaped notch at the end of the male tortoise's plastron is larger and deeper, and the tail is thicker. The female turtle has a flat plastron, a spine at the tip of the tail, and a larger head. The larger the size of the razor, the more amazing the number of eggs laid. Each nest can produce 3-10 eggs, about 2-3 nests a year, and the shells can be hatched in about 95 days.

Because musk turtles are temperate turtles, hibernation is necessary , otherwise it will affect their normal breeding. In winter, you can choose mud bottom hibernation, water or coconut soil hibernation. The length of hibernation is about 4 months, and the rhythm in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai is basically the rhythm of laying eggs after hibernation.
