The adult body of the tortoise is 30cm~35cm. The weight is about 5 kilograms. The male tortoise is larger than the female tortoise. The male tortoise has a concave plastron and a thick and long tail. The female tortoise is not concave and has a shorter tail.

The rear edge of male tortoises has a broad and flared carapace. That's why it's called an edge. Males are usually smaller but longer than females.
