The actual size of the eastern mesh turtle is larger than it looks, and the amount of exercise is also large, so a larger cage is required. On average, a tank with a side length of 60 cm is still too small and is best kept in a storage box for clothes.

Eastern mesh turtles do not irradiate ultraviolet light, nor can they utilize calcium. Compared with lizards, the facilities to prevent the escape of the eastern mesh turtle are relatively simple.
