The suitable growth temperature of Ehrlich's water turtle is 17-30℃. When it is lower than 15℃, it will hibernate. When it exceeds 33℃, it will hibernate. When hibernating, it burrows into the mud and spends two months of hibernation underwater.

When the Ehrlich terrapin hibernates, its metabolism is very low , do not need to breathe, but can obtain oxygen from the water through the cloaca. It is docile, spiritual, and likes to live in groups. It can be fed to fish, shrimp, snails, clams, tadpoles, earthworms, livestock and poultry meat and offal, rice, noodles, fruits, vegetables and compound feed.
