Can spotted turtles be raised in deep water?

2021-05-16 / 430 Read

Strictly speaking, the spotted turtle is a deep-water turtle because it can survive in deeper water. However, its shell is relatively heavy, and its swimming skills are not particularly good, so it is not recommended to use deep water when breeding. It is best to keep it in a medium-depth turtle pond and set up a sunning platform for it to rest and bask in the sun. Such an environment is more conducive to its growth.

Spotted

The spotted turtle likes to bask on its back and can adapt to strong light strength. When raising them, make sure they have access to direct sunlight. If conditions do not allow, it can be irradiated with ultraviolet lamps or UVB spotlights used for turtle breeding. It needs to be irradiated 1-2 times a week for 5-10 minutes each time.
