Qicui koi can live in a water temperature environment of 5-30°C, and the growth water temperature is 21-27°C, but they cannot resist sudden changes in water temperature, and the temperature difference suddenly exceeds 2°C to 3°C. The water temperature is 20°C to 25°C; sufficient oxygen is required, and it is suitable for living in a slightly alkaline, low-hardness water quality environment.

Ordinary carp is a very adaptable fish. Koi also retain this trait. They can be housed anywhere from a fish tank to an outdoor pond, and they can quickly grow to 30 cm or more; so using a traditional indoor fish tank is not as good as a round plastic pot.

Auspicious koi are cold-water fish, so it is best to raise them at a depth of half a meter or more in hot summer places.
