What medicine do mudskippers use when they get sick:

1. White spot disease: The causative agent is the small melon bug. After the small melon worm invades the skin of the large mudskipper, the skin mucus of the large mudskipper will increase, and a dense layer of white spots can be seen with the naked eye on the pectoral fin, dorsal fin, caudal fin and body surface skin of the large mudskipper. In the early stage of the disease, the big mudskipper would gather at the corner of the tank and rub, but in the later stage of the disease, the big mudskipper floated sluggishly on the water surface and did not feed the bait.

Prevention and control method: 0.05~0.07% red mercury solution can be used in 10 kg of water, and the large mudskipper is soaked for 5~10 minutes.

2、Skin mildew:The pathogens are Saprolegnia and Mushroom , the hyphae are slender and branched, and one end of them is root-like, which is inserted in the skin of the large mudskipper, and the rest is exposed outside the body. The hyphae are up to 3 cm long, gray-white and soft like cotton wool. In the early stage of the disease, the mucus on the surface of the large mudskipper increases, forming a layer of white nebula. In the later stage of the disease, the mycelium penetrated deep into the skin of the large mudskipper, resulting in a high mortality rate.

Control method: 0.03 grams of malachite green or methylene blue can be selected, dissolved in 10 kg of water, soaked for 3 to 5 minutes, and then rinsed with water, put into the aquarium. It takes multiple doses to heal.
