The difficulty of raising ring tail cranes is medium. There are many aspects that need to be considered when raising ring tail cranes, whether it is living environment, healthy diet, water quality and so on. Ringtail cranes inhabit outside lagoons, near intertidal reef areas, and in waters between 1 and 12 meters deep in sea-facing coral reef areas. Feeds mainly on attached algae, diatoms or organic debris, and sometimes ingests some sand to help grind up the algae in the stomach.

The ring-tailed crane is a kind of fish distributed in the coral reef waters of the Indo-Pacific. The fish body is oval and flattened sideways. The mouth is small, end position, with a row of flat teeth in the upper and lower jaws, the teeth are fixed and immovable, and the tooth margins are notched.
