The lifespan of plateau rabbits is generally about 8 years, which is considered to be one of the longest-lived rabbits.

The plateau rabbit is endemic to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The adult rabbit weighs 3 kg and has a body length of 3 kg. 44 cm, the ear length is 1/4 of the body length; the body hair is light gray-brown, the temple part is blue-gray, the tail hair is light white, and the tail base has gray spots. In the thickets and caves, it generally feeds on alpine plants such as thorn beans and moss.
