Crimson dragons can breed. When the blood red dragon reproduces, it reproduces by oviparity, and it is carried out by mouth hatching. Each time it lays 40-150 eggs.

Oral hatching method requires a large water body, and each pair of broodstock lays 40~150 eggs each time. The male fish holds the eggs in his mouth, and can contain 30 to 80 eggs at a time until the hatching is completed. When the juveniles hatch, they will gather near the males. At night, the males open their mouths and hold all the juveniles in their mouths to complete the work of mouth hatching and protecting the juveniles. Breeding is difficult, and now professional fish farms in Indonesia and other places have successfully carried out commercial breeding.

The fins of the blood red dragon juveniles are pale golden green, and the edges of the scales are slightly pink color, the mouth is light red. When an adult fish, the fish body is golden yellow, the edge of the scales is slightly golden red scale frame, the mouth and operculum have special dark red markings, and each fin is dark red. The color of the fins and scale frames of each part can be divided into orange, pink, deep red, and blood red, and the whole body sparkles, showing a unique charm.
