In the feeding and management of New Zealand rabbits, the selection of feed should follow two principles, one is reasonable feeding to ensure comprehensive nutrition; the other is the selection of feed raw materials to ensure the highest economic benefits.
According to the characteristics of the rapid weight gain of New Zealand rabbits in the early stage, the nursing pups were trained to eat food and grass from the age of 16 days. The initial supplementary feed requires high nutrition and easy digestion. It should be fed 5 to 6 times a day. And enough clean drinking water should be provided. When the young rabbits are 30 days old, compound feed should be gradually added. Its formula is: corn 10%, bean cake 10%, bran 35%, grass powder 42%, bone meal 2%, salt 0.5%~1%.

New Zealand rabbits are generally weaned at 30-45 days old, and their digestive function is not yet sound. They are also gluttonous, prone to food accumulation and diarrhea. Do not feed too much each time. Gradually increase the amount of feed as the age increases. Generally, the mixed concentrate is fed twice a day, and the green feed is fed 3 times a day. Timing, quantitative, fixed indicators.
Rational preparation of the diet of lactating female rabbits can promote the normal lactation of female rabbits. The feed formula is: corn 10%, soybean cake 15%, bran 30%, grass meal 42%, bone meal 2%, salt 0.5%~1%. During the lactation period, female rabbits consume a lot of nutrients. At the peak of lactation, they should be fed 750~1000 grams of green feed and 125~200 grams of mixed concentrate.
