How to Pick a British Mini Lop

2021-11-17 / 758 Read

When choosing British lop rabbits, try to choose young rabbits with good physical development and strong muscles, no bony protrusions in the shoulders, back and hindquarters, a wide and deep chest to the touch, and a wide back.

Usually, well-nourished English lop rabbits are well muscled, have smooth coats, have less angular bones, and weigh more than 500 grams at weaning.

How

A healthy British Lop has a natural posture, flexible and coordinated movements. When crouching, the front legs are straight and the hind legs are placed under the body. When sleeping, the eyes are closed and the breathing is weak. In summer, it often lies on its back, prone and stretches its limbs, and in winter, it crouches.

Healthy English lop rabbits have round and bright eyes, lively and energetic, with no discharge from the corners of the eyes. Alert, easy to move the ears, when encountering special sounds, the ears are erect.

Normally, English lop rabbit droppings are smooth, round pellets the size of a pea. If the fecal pellets are hard and small, you may be constipated. If the stool is long or thin and watery, the baby rabbit may have enteritis.
