In terms of appearance, Hainan rabbits are small in size, with a small and round head. When picking, look to see if the ears are folded forward beyond the nose, usually longer than the hind feet. Hainan rabbits are 35-39 cm long, 4-7 cm long tail, 9-12 cm long hind feet, and weigh 1.1-1.8 kg. Don't choose Hainan rabbits that exceed this range.

The color of Hainan Rabbit is brown-black on the top and back of the body, and milky white on the abdomen. The brown and black components on the side of the body are reduced, and they are mixed with brown-yellow and brown-white. The tip of the dorsal hair is generally brownish-yellow, followed by dark brown, the hair shaft is light brown, and the base and down hair are mostly gray-brown.
