Ili pika is a national protected animal, which has been listed as an endangered animal, and it is prohibited to buy, sell or raise by individuals. It only exists in Xinjiang, China. It mainly inhabits areas with an altitude of 2850-4100 meters. It feeds on various alpine plants and is one of the protected animals in my country.

Ili pika looks like a rabbit and a mouse, and the adult Ili pika weighs 240 grams, the body length is about 160-200 mm. Ears and whiskers are very long, over 8 cm. The coat color is brighter, the coat is sandy yellow, gray-brown, tea-brown, light red, reddish-brown and tan, and the summer coat is brighter or darker than the winter coat. There are 3 brown spots on the forehead and side of the neck, obvious rust-brown spots on the forehead and top, and a light-colored spot on the nape of the neck. The incisor and palatal foramen of the skull are one hole. The Ili pika is an endemic species in China, and among the only 24 species in the genus of pika currently recognized internationally, it has the largest ears, the longest hind legs and the largest body.
