The yellow rabbit-tailed mouse mainly inhabits hills and desert grasslands. Gather near farmland and canals. The breeding season starts in mid-April every year and ends in mid-September, with 3-4 litters a year, with an average of 7 (3-12) litters per litter. If the offspring were born that year, they will also participate in reproduction when they become sexually mature in the fall.
