The red tree kangaroo is an endangered rodent and is not allowed to be bought and sold, so the price is unknown. The red tree kangaroo lives in tropical rain forests and deciduous forests between 1,000 and 3,000 meters above sea level on the Huon Peninsula in eastern New Guinea. The red tree kangaroo has a head length of 50-76 cm and a body of 6-13 kg. The male is larger. It is an arboreal animal and is very good at jumping.

The red tree kangaroo eats leaves as its main food, and also eats fruits, flowers, Nuts, bark, insects, eggs and young birds. Red tree kangaroos in captivity can live up to 14 years. Red tree kangaroos do not sweat, and they lower their body temperature by licking their bodies. In order to maintain a moderate body temperature, they sleep and rest for 14 to 15 hours a day.
