Under the condition of artificial feeding, the feed for low-foaming flying squirrels is mostly fresh cypress branches and leaves, pine, elm, jujube, apricot leaves, as well as pine nuts, acorns, chestnuts, walnuts, etc. The branches and leaves should be fresh and green, and some water can be sprinkled on the collected branches and leaves to keep them fresh, because flying squirrels do not like to eat dry branches and leaves. During the breeding season of low-foam flying squirrels (from February to June each year), cornmeal can be boiled into a paste, and a small amount of sugar is added to feed the mother low-foam flying squirrels and weaned low-foam flying squirrels to supply nutrients.

Besides, be sure to do timings when feeding low-foam flying squirrels. Feed 2 times a day. Because the low-foam flying squirrel has the habit of eating night food, for this reason, it is recommended to feed more lately and early to eat in moderation; however, it is not advisable to overfeed the low-foam flying squirrel. Eat well and eat well; provide enough water, let the low-foaming flying squirrel drink water freely, but the water quality must be clean, and do not drink sewage.
