The Basenji will give birth when it is nearly 60 days pregnant, and there will be many signs when the Basenji is close to giving birth, such as:

1. Do not eat for 24 hours or choose only a small amount of favorite foods; some Basenjis vomit slightly before giving birth.

2. Basenji dogs will become restless, constantly scratching the floor and mat with their front feet, and will make nesting actions.

3. Generally starting on the day of production, the body temperature of Basenji will be Decrease gradually, getting lower as you get closer to production, possibly down to around 36°C 24 hours before production. When these signs appear, the owner must be ready to deliver the baby at any time.
