First, depending on the color, American Bobtails are generally tawny to gray-brown, with black markings on the body, forelimbs and tail. The ears are black at the tips with short tufts of hair, and the lips, cheeks, and belly are generally off-white.

Second, look at the weight, adult American Bobtails are generally heavy 7-14 kg, the average weight of females is 9 kg.
Third, looking at the appearance characteristics, the American Bobtail cat is a semi-punky to pudgy body with well-developed muscles. The head is broad and rounded, and the eyes are large and wide, oval and almond-shaped.
