Introduction to the Leaf-nosed Snake

leaf-nosed snake, a collective name for small burrowing snakes in the family Colubridae, with a total of 4 species. Each species has subspecies. Two members of the genus Phylorhynchus are found in the desert jungles of the southwestern United States and Mexico, while two members of the genus Lytorhynchus are found in the dry regions of northern Africa and southwestern Asia.

Introduction

The Leaf-nosed Snake has adapted to arboreal life and mainly feeds on lizards and insects. Their most interesting feature is their strange horns, or raised big noses. Leaf-nosed snakes are one of the strangest reptiles in the world.
