I. Basic information
Chinese name: Brazilian giant Jin Zhijian
Latin name: Grammostola pulchripes
Alternative name: Cha Bird-eating bird
Kingdom: Animalia
phylum: Arthropoda
II. Morphological characteristics
Generally wild Brazilian giants Jinzhima have adult feet between 17 and 19. Like most Grammostola species, their larvae are also very similar to Chilean red rose larvae. The whole is pink. The abdomen is black. However, in captivity, usually to more than 3 cm, you can find that their knees have begun to turn golden. Usually above 6 cm, they have basically fully displayed the color of the adult individual, and the golden pattern on the feet is extremely dazzling under the flash.
III. Habits
Brazilian giant Jin Zhijian comes from Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and other places, inhabits rain forests and treeless savannahs. In the wild, they rarely dig their own nests, but are better at finding ready-made burrows. Therefore, in captivity, we can provide a burrow for it to nest. A relatively humid environment can be provided for juveniles; for larger individuals, they seem to prefer a drier environment.
Four. Breeding
The most suitable temperature for the Brazilian giant Jinzhijian is between 25~17℃, and the most suitable humidity is 60%. Be sure to pay attention to the constant temperature, if the temperature difference is too large, it may lead to death.
For feeding, you can buy cherry cockroaches and mealworms, and feed them about 2-3 times a week. Try not to disturb it after feeding, otherwise, it will lose its temper and go on a diet! After 24 hours, whether you have eaten or not, it should be cleaned out to avoid the breeding of bacteria.
