The reporter learned from the Lincang Border Management Detachment in Yunnan on the 25th that the police on duty at the Xiaoheijiang Border Inspection Station of the Detachment recently seized a case of illegal transportation of wild animals during the border inspection process of passing vehicles, and successfully rescued the national secondary protection 1 animal leopard cat.

At about 4 o'clock on March 21, when the police on duty at the Xiaoheijiang border checkpoint conducted a routine inspection of a vehicle from Lancang to Lincang, the driver of the vehicle was evasive when asked by the police. The police on duty opened the spare tire mezzanine of the vehicle and found a kitten curled up in the spare tire mezzanine showing an attacking posture, and the pattern on its body was very unique, which was very similar to the appearance of a wild animal leopard cat, which aroused the suspicion of the police. The police then got in touch with the Shuangjiang County Forest Public Security. After the forest public security police identified the kitten, it was a leopard cat, a second-class national protected animal.

At present, the case has been handed over to Shuangjiang County Forest Police for further processing.

The police reminded that the leopard cat is a national second-class protected animal, protected by law, and may not be sold or kept in captivity. The public security organs will crack down on illegal hunting and killing of wildlife under state protection.
