A few days ago, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued the 2022 National Veterinary Drug Residue Monitoring Plan for Aquatic Products and 2022 National Aquatic Animal Disease Monitoring Plan, launching a new round of nationwide supervision and control of veterinary drugs and other inputs for aquaculture. For the prevention and control of aquatic animal disease risks, the implementation of the two plans can effectively improve the quality and safety of aquaculture and the level of biosecurity, and ensure the safe and effective supply of aquatic products.

2022 National Origin Aquatic Product Residue Monitoring Plan will monitor production and construction in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), 3 cities under separate state planning and Xinjiang The Corps's aquatic product veterinary drug residue status, a total of 7 kinds of aquaculture banned (discontinued) drugs, 2 kinds of routine drugs, 2 kinds of pesticides and diazepam were monitored. Among them, diazepam is a newly added monitoring indicator in 2022, marking the further strengthening of the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on unapproved veterinary drugs used in aquaculture. At the same time, the plan will also investigate the potential safety risks of unapproved inputs such as so-called non-drugs and animal health products sold in aquaculture, and monitor the content of risky substances in specific seafood products. The 2022 National Aquatic Animal Disease Monitoring Plan will conduct special monitoring of 10 aquatic animal diseases in 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, conduct investigations on 3 aquatic animal diseases, and conduct research on grass carp-related diseases .

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs requires local fishery authorities to implement the monitoring plan for veterinary drug residues in the production area, make good use of the monitoring results, and improve the level of quality and safety supervision ; Strengthen provincial-level aquatic animal disease monitoring, comprehensively grasp the distribution and epidemic situation of epidemic diseases, and scientifically study and judge the prevention and control situation. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will promptly inform the society of the monitoring of veterinary drug residues and aquatic animal epidemics in national aquatic products.
