In order to make picky eaters pet cats eat well, a pet store owner in California, USA, has introduced canned cat food containing mouse meat.
According to the United States Monterey County Herald reported on the 26th, Tom Radcliffe, a man who owns three pet stores in California, often hears customers complain about pet cats' picky tastes. Inspired by the cartoon Tom and Jerry, Radcliffe intends to make cat food from mouse meat. After consulting some animal nutritionists and friends, he began to devote himself to the development of this cat food. Recently, Radcliffe launched a brand of canned cat food called Mouser.
According to the regulations of the US Food and Drug Administration, meat such as rat meat can enter the market without pre-approval. Mouser brand cat food will be available in pet stores in California, Arizona and Nevada a month after the product is released. Radcliffe said the rat meat used to make the cat food is not from lab rats, but from producers who specialize in raising rats. The rodents, commonly used to feed pet snakes and owls, are very high and more than 10 times more expensive than chicken, duck, etc.
