In winter, the back is gray, the belly is white, and the ears are hairy; in summer, the body is light reddish brown, and the ears are not hairy. The rearing method is the same as the chipmunk, and due to its larger size, a large and sturdy cage is required. There is no need to hibernate in winter, and they can continue their activities as usual.
