Purple tree tarantula (Latin name: Tapinauchenius violaceus) is native to French Guiana, Brazil's rainforest, a very beautiful pet tarantula, which lives in Popularity among hobbyists is on the rise. It is also the relatively more common species in the genus Tapinauchenius, second only to mangrove tarantulas.

Young juveniles are easily startled and fast, requiring care to avoid escape. They hunt fiercely and dare to attack prey larger than themselves. As a member of the Tapinauchenius genus, they also grow rapidly, usually reaching adulthood in 2 to 3 years.

The suitable temperature of the purple tree bird-eating spider is 26-28 ℃, and the suitable humidity is 85%. It is recommended to use moist peat, coconut brick, and clay as the substrate. It is wise to have a bark or dead wood in the box for them to hide in, this will prevent them from being startled and jumping out as soon as the box lid is opened.
