Mexican Redtail Breed Introduction

Mexican GoldbackSpider (Latin name: Aphonopelma chalcodes) native to the dry deserts of the United States, Mexico, and the Rio Grande.Golden Retriever, once in the United States pets one of the most popular species among tarantula lovers, as they are also a species found in the southeastern United States There are tarantula species distributed in some areas.

Compared to the Rio Grande Golden Retriever, they have a much wider range and are more abundant in the wild. However, as members of the Aphonopelma genus, they also have a super long life cycle from arid desert regions. They are said to take 9-10 years to reach adulthood and may be one of the slowest growing species of tarantulas, but they may also be the longest-lived, with a lifespan of up to 30 years.

The adult Mexican golden-backed spider is 13-14 cm in length, with a suitable temperature of 25-27°C and a suitable humidity of 65%. It is recommended to use a relatively dry peat/coconut brick as the substrate.

They have been very rare in the pet tarantula market in recent years, and their prices are relatively high. It may be that artificial breeding was unsuccessful, and CB larvae of this species have hardly been seen in the pet tarantula market. Occasionally, wild individuals can be seen, but the price is relatively high.

Feeding method of Mexican red tail

The whole body is densely covered with fine hair. Birding spiders in South and North America may have an irritating short hair in some places, and when they encounter enemies such as mice, they use their hind feet to sweep this natural itching powder on the enemy. The reaction of the enemy is like the itching of the whole body after the worker lays down the woven glass felt. Because this way of protecting oneself can be used, it may not be as easy to bite as bird-catching spiders in Asia and other places. American bird-catching spiders are often less toxic than those in Asia and other places.
