Original in England, originated in the 18th century. The source is unknown, the Wire-haired terrier was not recorded until 20 years after it appeared. Some say it was created by the ancient sausage dog, short-hairedFox Terrier and a Pickle. The Shorthaired Fox Terrier was established in 1876 as the breed standard. Mainly used for hunting small animals and chasing their lair, can fight and capture foxes. It is talented and intelligent, and its appearance is dignified and beautiful, so it is often used as a companion dog. In addition, because it loves to bark, it is also used as a garden guard dog. In 1790, the breed was documented and a short-haired white fox terrier "Pitch" appeared in a painting by Colonel Thornton, thereby immortalizing it.
Origin unknown, Wirehaired terriers were not recorded until 20 years after their appearance. Some say it was created by the ancient dachshund dog, English Foxhound and a Pickle. The Shorthaired Fox Terrier was established as the breed standard in 1876.

The German Shorthaired Pointer is a friendly, intelligent and helpful dog. The first impression is warm and eager to work, without any sign of nervousness or attempts to escape.
The breed dogs have a lively appearance; the bones are slightly curved, but this does not mean a Fox Terriers poor or somewhat inferior, speed, stamina and strength are equally important, well-proportioned and like the Foxhound as one of its judging criteria. Like hounds, terriers should neither have long, slender legs nor too short. Standing like a wise hound, with a lot of dust on its body and a short back. Compared to its body length, the dog possesses the greatest degree of explosiveness in order to reach the greatest strides. Body weight is no longer as important as shape, size and profile when it comes to suitability for work, it is no longer a fixed norm, and it has little effect on fox hunting.
Old scars or injuries from work or accidents will not be included in the exhibit unless they affect motor function, work or aesthetics.
Size, Proportion and Structure
According to current needs, the height of the shoulder blade in a fully compliant, well-balanced dog should not exceed 39.4 cm ( Bitches slightly lower), the length of the back from the withers to the tip of the tail should not exceed 30.5 cm, and once the relevant proportions are met, the head length should not exceed 18.4 cm or be less than 17.8 cm. Dogs that meet these standards should weigh 7.7 to 8.6 kg, and bitches are 0.9 kg lighter. Coordination - When an aspect or aspects are considered to be related to a specific indicator, exact proportions are required, which is the basis of terrier anatomy. The main points to consider include the relative proportions of the head and the front face, the relative proportions of the head to the back, and the height to the length of the body, ideally when the latter two are the same. In addition, while head standards are absolutely accurate, height and back length and coat standards are approximate, and take into account the breeder's and judge's perspective rather than a hard-and-fast standard.
Head
Eyes and orbits are black, medium to small, deep set, round eyes full of enthusiasm and wit. Those with yellow eyes are inferior dogs. The small ears are V-shaped, of medium thickness, set down and set against the cheeks rather than overhanging the sides of the head as in the Foxhound. The upper edge of the lower part of the ear fold is higher than the skull. Ears that stand up like tulips or rose petals are considered disqualifying.
The skull is flat, moderately narrow, gradually narrowing from the top of the head to the eyes, the head is not too angular, but from the forehead to the upper jaw in profile, it has more depression than the greyhound. It can be seen that although the front part is gradually narrowed from the eyes to the mouth, and the sides of the chin are slightly inclined inward, it will not produce sudden changes in the lower part of the eye. These parts are quite plump, as if they were carefully carved. "wedge". A properly proportioned head with a slightly different length of the skull than the foreface and flat cheeks.
The jaws are well muscled, strong, and balanced, but not in a way comparable to the Greyhound and the modern English Terrier. The current part does not appear to be "one size fits all", it looks like a wedge shape after being carved. Nose black, forming a cone with the muzzle, white, red or variegated noses of any color similar to these are considered disqualifications. A high degree of occlusion of the teeth, with the upper teeth (incisors) outside or on top of the lower teeth. Excessive outward or over-occlusal disqualification.
Neck, topline and trunk
The neck is well-proportioned, well muscled, of moderate length, gradually widening towards the shoulders. The back is short and straight, strong, with compact skin. The chest is deep and uneven. The chest is muscular but not exaggerated. The front ribs are of moderate length and the rear ribs are long and abducted. The loin is strong and muscular. The tail is pleasantly upturned, but neither attached to the back nor curled. The tail should be of moderate length, a tail like a "pipe plug" is considered a defect.
Forequarters
Shoulders long and sloping, meeting the back naturally, with flat shoulder blades. The elbows are at right angles to the torso and can be freely abducted. The forearm is straight from any angle, the bones of the forearm and foot are strong, the ankle is small or absent in frontal view, and the metacarpal bones are short and straight. Both fore and hind limbs are straight forward during walking. Feet small and round, firm and powerful, with hard and rough pads, moderately curved heels, neither in nor out.
Hindquarters
Muscular, strong, free to squat or bend, thighs long and powerful, knees bent naturally, neither The extension is not adducted; seen from the rear, the metatarsals are straight and parallel to each other, like a foxhound when standing, and the knee is flexed. The hindquarters and thighs are short and the knee joints are straight. When walking, the front and rear limbs are stretched forward, and the knee joints are not abducted. Feet like forelimbs.
Coat
Short, smooth, smooth, hard and bushy. The belly and the inside of the legs should be covered with fur.
Predominantly white in color, followed by dappled, red or reddish-brown patches. But if it is a small point it is not very important.
Gait
Movement or behavior is an important test item in gait, the terrier's leg is straight forward when walking, and the forelegs are in contact with the ground. It hangs vertically and pendulums equally on both sides, like a pendulum. The power to move forward is basically issued by the hind limbs. Those with smooth movement have long thighs and good curvature of the knee joint, so that the forward thrust of the hock joint can be exerted. When advancing, the front legs form a continuous straight line, keeping the same distance between the front and rear thighs. When standing, it is often difficult to determine whether a dog has a slight shoulder injury; but when it is moving, if there is an injury, the defect is obvious, and its forelimbs have a tendency to move in a cross or disc shape. On the contrary, the further back the dog's shoulders are, the wider the distance between the hind legs, like the paddle of a dragon boat. When the heel becomes like a hen's hind knee joint, the hind limbs are open, and the forward momentum will be lost at this time. When the heels are turned out, the hind legs will cross, resulting in an unsightly gait.
Personality
Sensitive, lively, expressive, and excitable.
Disqualification
Ears pricked up like tulip or rose petals. The nose is white, cherry or a combination of these colors. Mouth too large or too small.
