History Considered one of the oldest dog breeds . This dog breed originated in Roman times. These dogs were used as shepherds or drive dogs. These dogs traveled across the Alps with the Roman legions, protecting humans and driving cattle. In the Rottweil area, these dogs are naturally crossbred with local dogs. The Rottweiler's main task now is to drive and protect the herd while grazing, defending the owner and their property. This dog breed is named after the Rottweiler Free City and is known as the "Rottweiler Butcher Dog". The butchers bred these dogs purely for defense. In this process, first-class guard dogs and drive dogs can also be used as service dogs. At the beginning of the 20th century, various dogs were used in police departments, and the Rottweiler also came in handy. It soon turned out that the Rottweiler was very suitable for the tasks assigned by the police department, so in 1910, the dog was officially accepted as a police dog. |

Character The Rottweiler is generally a calm, confident, and courageous dog, whose confidence and aloofness make him unapproachable and not casually friendly. Rottweiler's attitude to environmental changes is confident and calm. With a nature to defend his home, family, he is a very intelligent dog, strong, adaptable and very willing to work, making him a great companion dog, guard dog and multipurpose dog. Rottweiler's behavior in the arena should be restrained, willing to be examined and adaptable, and able to tolerate the referee's examination of his mouth, testicles, etc. Apathetic or reserved dogs are not faults, which are normal for the breed. Aggression or a tendency to be aggressive toward other dogs is not a defect. Any shy Rottweiler must leave the field, and a Rottweiler will be judged shy only if: refusing to stand for inspection, dodging the referee. Threatening or intimidating someone (him/her), the referee will leave at any sign of danger when approaching from behind for a normal check. Attacking anyone on the field is a disqualification. |
