The Lower Division Dog Produced in the southeastern part of Majiang County, because the central production area is in Xiasi Town, it is historically called Xiasi dog. The residents of the production area are mainly Miao people, living among the deep mountains and mountains. In the past, the forests were deep and dense, the mountains were high and the roads were dangerous, and there were many wild animals. Since ancient times, the Miao people have the custom of hunting and raising dogs to guard the house. Through the long-term selection and breeding of the people in the production area, the "Lower Dog" has unique characteristics in terms of body appearance and life performance. As early as the thirteenth year of Jiaqing (1808), Xiasi Town was turned into a commercial port, forming a prosperous city and an important wharf. In the past, the land transportation between Guizhou and other provinces was blocked, and the local products of Yunnan and Guizhou were mostly concentrated in the lower division. Cotton, soil cloth, medicinal materials, porcelain and other goods from Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi were also carried upstream by boats to Xasiqiya, and then transported to Guiyang, Anshun and other places. Therefore, in that year, there were many merchants in Xiasi Town, the market was prosperous, there were many merchants, and the residents were dense. The Kuomintang Army General School was relocated to Majiang in the winter of 1938, and the military dog facility was set up in the Yuhuang Pavilion, which led to the development of dog breeding in the lower division.
