Pugs are generally easy to train and are most suitable for outsiders to train, but Pugs are very protective of their owners and will bark a lot when strangers approach. A thoughtful, lovable small dog clock that doesn't require exercise or constant grooming, but needs a companion. There are many wrinkles on the face, and it is characterized by walking like a boxer. Overall Appearance: Distinctly square, like a sturdy pony. The body is compact, well-proportioned, and muscular.

Jaws/Teeth: Slightly downward. A twisted mouth, teeth or tongue is a disqualification. The broad mandibular upper incisors are neatly arranged, almost in a line.

Eyes: Dark, very large, spherical, tender, eager, very shiny, full of passion when excited.

Ears: Thin, small, soft like black velvet. There are two types: rose ears - small, pendulous, folded up and back to reveal the burrs; button ears - ears folded forward with the tips of the ears close to the skull and covering the ear holes, pointing towards the eyes. Best for the latter.

When viewed from behind, the action should be the same. The front legs are strong, the hind legs are driven and stretched, and the knees move naturally. A slight sway of the hindquarters is typical of the gait.

Wool: Fine, smooth, soft, short, shiny, neither coarse nor woolly.

Color: silver, apricot, fawn or black. Each is clearly defined, allowing for complete contrast between the color, the trace (the one extending from the occiput to the tail) and the face. The markings are also clearly defined. The color of the muzzle or around the mouth, ears, spots on the chest, thumbprints or diamonds on the forehead, traces, etc., should be as black as possible.

Weight: Ideal height 6.3 - 8.1 kg (14 - 18 lbs)
